Tucked among the foothills of the Sonoran Desert, the Boulders Resort in Carefree, Arizona enjoys a spectacular setting with unrivaled views. The resort has two championship courses, the North and South, designed by Jay Morrish. They are considered two of the Southwest's most demanding golf courses. The North Course is the Boulders' original layout. The rugged beauty of the landscape is emphasized on every hole, some of which play right up to 12-million-year-old granite boulder formations. The desert terrain is also inhabited by an abundance of wildlife including rabbits, coyotes, and even bobcats and javelinas. Though the breathtaking views alone are worth playing a round, you won't be disappointed by the challenging yet fair layout. Each hole is designed to give you choices in how you play it, whereas there is less flexibility on the more punishing South Course.
