The public golf course at the West Side Golf Center is a nine-hole, par-3 course. Steve Humphries designed the course, which opened in 1975. It has adequate length and challenge for being a 9-hole course. The golf course's layout rewards good shots. The Tifdwarf grass greens are small and the Bermuda grass fairways are open. There are also several strategically placed sand bunkers that demand shot accuracy. A river runs through the course, forming water hazards on almost half the holes. The West Side Golf Center facility, along with the excellent par-3 course, offers a putting green and chipping area as well as an on-site golf pro and pro shop.
