Good choice for visitors

Here's a review from a visiting American duffer. Marina Bay is an interesting layout in immaculate condition. The course is lighted for night play, which is not a bad option considering the climate. Note that they require an indication of your handicap. I did not have a GHIN card with me, but they accepted my GolfLogix handicap. You might not get on if you do not have either of these!

I played only the back nine at 6:30 in the morning. Main feature of the design is the rolling fairways. Length is average. Greens are rolling also and true to putt. I rode along with three locals who were very friendly.

Bring your own golf balls, glove and tees if you can. Otherwise the pro shop makes you buy a dozen balls minimum (S$30) and a full bag of tees (S$12). Club rental was S$65 for a decent set of Callaways. Food options were pretty minimal. No decent restaurant. Nice locker room for more S$.

This is a good place to get your golf fix while in subtropic Asia.

Avoid the bunkers

The opening hole and subsequent ones have St Andrews' style of bunkers which require one to play backwards to safely exit it. As such, if you could avoid getting into them, your score would be very decent. As it is located in the city, great view of the city skyline. It is a public course.
