The Old Course at Royal Troon Golf Club is one of the most famous links courses in the world. The layout has the traditional out-and-back links design that sprawls across a windswept, coastal landscape. It starts off gently with player-friendly holes that give you a chance to take in the views of Ailsa Craig and the beautiful mountains of the Isle of Arran. The back nine is where you'll encounter the prevailing northwesterly wind that will keep you on your toes. The course is unique for having both the longest and shortest holes in Open Championship golf. The par-5 sixth hole is the longest at 601 yards and the "Postage Stamp," the par-3 eighth, is the shortest at 123 yards. The course also has one of the most difficult Open holes, the par-4 11th, where you'll face out-of-bounds and the railway line along the entire right side.
