Asta Golf Club is tucked away in the Tingwall Valley, just north of Scalloway, where wildlife freely roams the club's two courses. Vast expanses of countryside surround the golf courses, providing them with a spacious feel and scenic views. Both courses, the Classic and the New, are nine-hole layouts. The Classic Course is the shorter and more traditional of the two. It is slightly more forgiving than the newer course and there are also fewer water hazards. Though it may be more appealing for beginners, there are still a few challenges in store. A good example is the risk-reward eighth hole. You can either take the trickier shot over the loch, or play it safe down the left over the fairway. Beware: There is a burn to the right and out-of-bounds behind the green.
