St. Boswells Golf Club
About
The original course was laid out by William Park, Musselburgh Open Golf Champion, who wrote in his brief 'the turf is very good and resembles very much the turf to be found on seaside courses'.
The only hiccup in the Club's history took place in 1948 when the river Tweed rose some 1 feet above normal level, once in a century flood, and so much damage was done that the Club was forced to close down. Ten years later the Club was reformed on a temporary lease and was redesigned by John Slade, Duddingston. Play resumed in 1958 and through strenuous efforts by a few members an with financial support from the local community the Club flourished. The fortunes of the Club changed dramatically in 1979 when the course was purchased out right and a few years later in 1985 a new clubhouse was built. Unlike other Border courses the terrain is flat and presents few difficulties other than the River Tweed, which is defined as a 'lateral water hazard'. It is a delightful holiday course with a SSS of 66.

Nice 9 holes
This is a nice little 9 hole course along the river. Beautiful location but the pace of play can be impacted when busier due to the holes merging on most holes and having to avoid hitting at oncoming players.
Excellent greens
Really enjoyed a round at my boyhood course. The course and greens were in excellent condition well done to the green keepers. Only complaint was slow play in front with a dad and his two kids who were sharing clubs, hitting second balls and admiring their shots like professionals, without offering to let us play through. Group behind us were grumpy with us as result!!
Nice wee course
I played st Boswell’s golf club during the current covid restrictions but turned up was welcomed to the club and course layout explained to me (from social distance). I also played on one of wettest days so fairways were extremely soft but greens and tees had held up very well and greens smooth and in great condition. The only small point I would make was as a visitor the lack of yardage markers on fairways made front 9 slightly harder but could judge by second time around. All in all lovely small club in a nice setting great value for money!
Lovely little course
Played here many times, nice enjoyable course with some interesting holes, disappointing that the clubhouse wasn’t open because it hadn’t been deep cleaned, So no drinks or toilets etc
Gem
Lovely 9 hole course that follows the river. Very picturesque course and very well kept! Will definitely be back
Riverside beauty
A stunning little 9 hole course starting with two challenging par 3 holes and then a delightful amble alongside the river Tweed. The course was in lovely condition and the greens were quick enough to catch you out on occasion. We were made very welcome by the members that were there that day and look forward to returning soon.
great wee 9 holer
played in a big winter wind, course is flat and good for people with limited mobility

Nice for a relaxing Sunday morning
It's not a competition course and is 9 holes but they encourage you to go round twice. It's a beautiful spot. If you just want a relaxing fun game this is the place to go. Friendly locals on the course
Peaceful round

Great venue
Great little course tucked away, layout, views clubhouse staff fantastic, greens very good , a little slow but true. Anne, made us very welcome and showed us what's what and we feel like we've made a new friend.

A wee gem
A lovely 9 hole course tucked along the River Tweed. An easy walk apart from hill back up to car park.
Looks an easy layout but is quite tricky. Greens were very good, as was the whole course.
Clubhouse manned until mid afternoon then honesty box in operation.
