The James Braid-designed course a Boat of Garten Golf Club sits in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands. Braid's routing, which brings golfers through a birch forest alongside the River Spey, is both challenging and picturesque. Boat of Garten's signature sixth hole, known as The Avenue, tests golfers with a narrow tree-lined dogleg fairway and then a mid-iron approach shot to a plateau green guarded by bunkers left and right. Sometimes called "the Gleneagles of the North," Boat of Garten G.C. has been voted Scotland's No.1 hidden gem course by readers of Bunkered magazine, and has been ranked among the top 40 golf courses in Scotland. Visitors are most welcome.
