St. Michaels Golf Club
About
St. Michael's Golf Club sits atop Gallow Hill, providing spectacular views past the River Eden to the historic buildings of St. Andrews. The course sprawls across a prehistoric settlement that is protected by Historic Scotland. The terrain is an interesting mix of wooded parkland and undulating heathland with a well-draining sandy base. The golf course features small greens and narrow fairways that place a premium on accuracy. While it may not have the prestige or the classic links layout of St. Andrews, St. Michael's Golf Club offers just as formidable a test. The challenges begin immediately on the first hole, an uphill par 4 with a fairway that slopes right to left. St. Michael's signature hole is the par-3 15th, which many consider to be the most demanding short hole in Fife. There is a large dip to the left and rear of the green, a bunker to the front right, and out-of-bounds to the left and on the railway line behind.

The 15th Par 3 Photo submitted by BJK77 on 10/14/2020
Great course conditions
Great course, was a busy day with the weather being so good. A little bottle necked towards the last 3 holes but didn't effect the Great atmosphere
Excellent value for money
Late Autumn and the course played like a glorious Summers day, fantastic conditions and even although it was quite cold, overcast and no heat i thoroughly enjoyed my round.
My normal courses are covered with leafs at the moment and because this course has mainly Pine's you could count the leaf's on the playing surface literaly with one hand.
With it being nearly on the coast there is obviously a lot of sand as a base so very few soggy parts, another bonus.
The course is fairly safe (you will not lose many balls) and moderately easy (watch out for the 15th), an excellent walk with some nice views. I will certainly return and highly recommend a visit.
Great course
Really enjoyable course. Challenging first 4 holes. Hilly in places but each time with a really interesting hole to suit. General pace of play good, but let down by a 4 ball stubbornly refusing to let us play through 5 holes from home. Limited interaction with the facilities given the current restrictions but overall friendly and in line with expectations. Excellent value for money and well worth the green fee. Will be back.
St Michael’s Golf Course
Played with a 2 ball with my friend , and was not disappointed , This is simply a fantastic Golf Course. The course layout and condition for the time of year is outstanding. Some of the holes are breath taken , and have to be seen to be believed. From the start, there is a very good clubhouse with friendly staff and a very good home made food menu. The 1st hole is wide and expansive and then hole after hole there is something to keep your interest and are tricky but very enjoyable. The 15th, 16th and 17th are a fantastic way to finish off this absolute diamond of a course, it really is a must play course!
Golf Weekend Away
Great forgiving course. Not much to write home about but I enjoyed the simplistic design. Back 9 was more interesting which I enjoyed. Would recommend. Hope to play again.
Gem of a course
I made a last minute booking to play this course and I am so glad I did. The course was generally in great condition. The staff and members are very friendly and helpful and I would like to thank them for their contribution to a very enjoyable day.
Superb
This course is superb, a right challenge but fun, enjoyable and talk about value for money, would recommend anybody going to St Andrews\Carnoustie to make time and play this hidden gem, cant fault it and cant wait to olay it again
Fantastic course
Played this course many times before and have never seen it as good as it was to play today
