St. Michael's Golf Club, located in the town of Leuchers in the Kingdom of Fife, is more than a century old, opening in 1903. The course is relatively short by modern design and plays slightly less than 5,900 yards.
Playing in the fairways is a must here as finding the rough makes for a difficult round. The design has plenty of hole variation.
St. Michael's lies next to the village of Leuchars and is just four miles from the golf center of St. Andrews. The terrain is of the rolling parkland variety and is some of the most distinct land in Fife.
The 15th, named "St. Mikes" is a 138-yard par 4. The hole is one of the course's most picturesque as well as short, but also demanding with the short iron.
All of the course's par 3s holes are short and tricky, with plenty of trouble. No par 3 plays longer than 156 yards. Both par 5s play less than 500 yards as well. All but three par 4s are less than 350 yards, but the fourth, known as "Lucklaw," is a daunting 436-yard challenge.
Greens fees are 25-30 pounds and 30-35 for all-day play on both weekdays and weekends. Visitors are welcome all day Monday through Saturday and after noon on Sundays.
You can reach St. Michael's via Dundee Road, A919. The golf course is located on the left hand side.
