Description
Located in the Lochore Meadows Country Park is a nine-hole beauty is the Lochore Meadows Golf Course. The course, located near the town of Lochgelly is set in a tranquil part of the woods and many holes have views across Loch Ore.
A stream winds through the course adding to the serenity. The course plays 3,035 yards and has two par 3s and two par 5s. Every par 4, except the 412-yard finishing hole, plays less than 340 yards, making wedge play and accuracy paramount.
The forward tees are usually just a few paces ahead of the back tees, which can be an added difficulty for beginners and short hitters. The third hole, at 527 yards from the back tees, is just eight yards ahead on the forward tees, so the par 5 is unrealistic to many players from this tee box.
However there are few penal aspects about this course, so the difficulty may lie mostly in length and the course is still a good option for players looking for a playable course.
Greens fees for adults range from 7-13 pounds. Children get a large discount and can play on weekdays for just 2.50 and on weekends for a little more. Small greens fees and open play to the public make Lochore Meadows an appealing option.
