Located in the heart of golf country in the Kingdom of Fife is Lockgelly Golf Club. The parkland course is flat and easy to walk and plays just slightly more than 5,454 yards.
The first hole is the course's only par 5 at 479 yards. The par-68 course provides spectacular views of the Lomonds and Ochils. The back side has six consecutive par 4s, on holes 11-16. The club is located on the northwest edge of Lochgelly.
Most par 4s play less than 400 yards, but the second, "Water House" is 416 yards and the longest on the front nine. Hole No. 16, "Brig," is longer at 433 yards.
The back side, however, has four consecutive par 4s playing between 280 and 340 yards. The 17th is a long, 200-yard par 3 and the finishing hole is another short par four named "Hame."
The clubhouse has a bar, changing room, catering facilities and a pro shop. You can access Lochgelly Golf Club from Forth Road Bridge about 20 minutes northwest of Lochgelly. It's also about eight miles from Dunfermline.
