Elie Golf House Club's history goes all the way back to the 16th century. The course presently at the house is more than a century old.

This links-style course is quintessential Scottish golf, often featuring gusts of wind on its grounds over 30 mph. The 225-yard par-3 third is regarded as one of the finest par 3s in all of Fife and the course has many other memorable holes.

Hole Nos. 4-7 are the same as they were 400 years ago. Elie Golf House Club plays a par-70, 6,251 yards and has no par 5s and only two par 3s. The course is quirky, congested in parts, blind tee shots, short par 4s and an all-out joy to play. It hosts 4,500 visitor rounds each year.

The stretch of holes from Nos. 10-13 is one of the finest stretches in the Kingdom. The 285-yard 10th plays down a jagged shoreline and big hitters usually try for the green. The next hole is a short, deceiving par 3 followed by two long par 4s. The 12th is 468 yards making one of the most difficult pars around.

The course is one of the premier courses in Fife and charges between 50 and 80 pounds for a round, depending on the season and whether it's on a weekend. You can purchase weekly passes as well, which could come in handy if you want to play many rounds during the week, and most visitors do.
