Glenrothes Golf Course lies at the west end of the town. This difficult parkland course covers 160 acres and offers scenic views over the Forth Estuary and Lothians, as well as the Lomond Hills to the north. The fairways are tree-lined at this 6,444-yard, par-71 course.
Three of Glenrothes' four par 3s play at or more than 200 yards, with the longest being the 228-yard fifth, called "Whina." A burn comes into play on the back nine holes 11-13, as well as the 18th.
The club is of the longer variety in Fife. The seventh is the longest hole on the course at 568 yards and is the only par 5 on the front side. The backside plays a par 36 and is more than 100 yards longer than the front side as well.
The course closes with two midrange par 4s playing between 330 and 370 yards. The 18th is dauntingly called "Hell's End." The front side plays a par 38 from the forward tees.
Glenrothes can be accessed from M90 to A92 from St. Andrews.
