Elie Sports Club Golf Course is a charming nine-hole course with beautiful views overlooking the Firth of Forth. It's a fun-filled short course, playing a mere 2,040 yards.
The holes consist of classic seaside links holes and some holes further inland. The course is in good condition through most of the year and is the little brother of the Elie Golf Club House, located up the road.
It's far less challenging and a much better choice for beginning golfers not up to the challenge further ahead. The longest holes are the first and third, playing 340 and 334 yards, respectively. Four of the holes are par 3s and there are three in a row from the fourth through sixth.
The Sports Club also has an 18-hole putting course. You can get to the club by going 10 miles south on A917 from St. Andrews.
It's close to the water and has a links feel to it and views are superb overlooking the Forth. Caddies and pull carts are available. Greens fees range from 9-12 pounds.
