Located on the northern outskirts of Dunfermline is Canmore Golf Club. Canmore is an 18-hole parkland course with a par of 67. The course is short in length at just 5,127 yards and there are no par-5 holes.
The course is well-maintained, has good greens that demand a finely tuned short game. The club was originally founded in 1897 and has been at its present site in Dunfermline since 1902 and received the second nine holes in 1914. The present-day layout dates back to 1946 after it was used to aid troops in both world wars.
In recent years, the club added thousands of trees were planted and have grown in nicely making the course far more wooded than in year's past. The course offers pull carts, power carts and caddies, take your pick.
The first hole is a good warm-up: a 250-yard par 4 that plays a par 3 from the forward tees. A difficult stretch awaits on the backside as the 12th and 13th are back-to-back long par 3s, both slightly less than 200 yards in length.
