Aberdour Golf Club

Description

Six miles southeast of Dunfermline is Aberdour Golf Club, located in a charming region of the Kingdom of Fife. The course has two sets of tees, playing 5,460 yards from the back and 4,840 from the forward tees.

This parkland layout unusually starts out with back-to-back par-3s, both playing 159 yards. From there, holes No. 3-6 are par 4s all under 370 yards. Short iron and wedge play is crucial at Aberdour, but here these clubs may be tricky to control. Wind can at times be severe, making any lofted club more difficult to control.

The back nine plays 100 yards longer at 2,773 yards and is a par 34, compared to a 33 on the shorter front side. The 18th, like the opening hole is a par 3, but this time is long at more than 200 yards. Three par 4s at Aberdour play less than 320 yards, so driving the green is a possibility on multiple occasions. The only par 5 is the 530-yard 10th.

The course runs along the shore of the River Forth and beautiful views look out past the river to Edinburgh and further. Dinner at the clubhouse provides the best views on site.

Players with a high skill level can score well here and good players will have a chance to score one of their best rounds. Greens fees range from 20 pounds on weekdays to 35 pounds on weekends. Power carts and caddies aren't available, but pull carts can be rented. Aberdour also has a men's and women's locker room, dining room and pro shop.
