Winter Greens

Altho winter greens and raining that stopped by the back 9 I enjoyed my round (first time I’ve broke 90) actually said to myself walking off the 18th that I’m looking forward to coming back when the real greens are open in the summer!!!
The real greens looks fantastic and look testing (there goes my 90) so roll on the summer

Great value.

Arrived to find only one winter green on. The course was in great condition. Highly recommend playing this course. Visitors can also hire a buggy for only £20. Will definitely be back.

Great Course

Thoroughly enjoyed our round. Course was exceptional considering all the bad weather recently. Members and staff were friendly and helpful. Some tricky par 3s and some tight fairways. Not a walkover at all. Couple of choke points on the course but pace is pretty good. Definitely be back.

Great dsy

The Tryst was in very good condition considering the weather that had been over the last few weeks. Greens were really good for this time of the year.

Visitor

Having recently moved to the area Ii was thinking about getting a membership. However, although the course is great and it’s local I’m not sure it’s worth the money to become a member, the joining fee for me is the sticking point.
Great course though and I’ve met some great lads that are members whilst playing.
I’ll be back but not as a member I don’t think.

A decent undemanding course

This is a flat course, easy to walk around without much effort, fairways were wide and in good condition and the greens also ran well. In truth it's a fairly easy course to play, ideal if you spray shots around. I was on my own behind a couple of four ball groups but they quickly allowed me through and general pace of play was very good.

Nice flat course

Played 10/9/23 but unfortunately had to walk off after 8 holes due to the weather being relentlessly wet and greens flooding etc.. I have yet to play this course when the weather is kind enough to enjoy the round. This is my third attempt playing and soaked to the bone each time. The course itself has good features and although being very flat it does have its challenges. I would like to return to play again soon and hopefully see the full potential this course has to offer in better weather and hopefully a day where it doesn't feel like a waste of green fees

Ticking off another course

Had always wanted to play here and yesterday was the day and TBH it didn't disappoint. The course condition was fabulous, although found some greenside bunkers were a tad hard underneath and with little sand near the edges. Apart from that the greens ran true and relatively fast, with some big breaks on some putts. Enjoyed the initial 2 holes and then found holes 3-7 a bit back and forth (long and straight), however, thoroughly enjoyed holes 8-18 with a fair mixture of doglegs and hazards (it did help I suppose that I played that stretch in 2 under par). Really enjoyed my experience and happy with my (+4, 71 especially as I was +6 after 6) if in the area would return

Falkirk Tryst

We booked a fourball hot deal through Golf Now for £18pp which was excellent value. On arrival the club Pro informed us that the Course was firm and fast which proved to be accurate. Overall the Course was in immaculate condition. Whilst not the longest of Courses it provides more than enough a challenge for the average Golfer with the back 9 being tougher than the front 9. The only slight downside was the fourball in front of us who seemed to be playing a Medal and were quite slow going round. Overall though it was an excellent course and would definitely go back.

Better than expected

Played this course only once before when I was a boy, over 30 years ago, and I must say it’s a very nice little course, better than expected.
The fairways are very spacious and forgiving. The greens were in very good condition. My only gripe being that a few of the tee boxes were in need of some ground repair. Very friendly shop staff and members, two very nice elderly guys offered to let me and my playing partner through as they thought we were holding them up. Would definitely recommend playing here.
We played on a Saturday afternoon and the noise from the football ground was loud but I enjoyed it!

Sadly…

The course is one I’ve played many times and I know it is very early in the golf season but they currently have no greens; they have lost them and it might be a while before they recover. There is hardly any grass on them and putting is a tortuous experience. For the members’ sake I hope they recover quickly because it is a lovely club and the course itself is very good. I cannot, at the moment, recommend it .

Packed Full Course

Being local I have played the Tryst many times. It’s a decent course, flat and a good test for a beginner/intermediate player (like me).
The course was in decent condition considering it was the end of March and the volume of rain that had fallen in the past month.
HOWEVER, it became clear to me when I got there the reason I hadn’t played it for a while. The course was YET AGAIN absolutely crammed. And I mean jam packed. The last time I played it in the summer last year I walked off after 15 holes and nearly 5 HOURS of play. The Tryst has a history of getting as many people on the course as humanly possible. Probably to make up for money lost through Covid, but there is literally no space between teeing off and players waiting to tee off straight after you. This continues tee after tee, every single hole. There are constant hold ups due to over crowding on the course, and coupled with the fact there are a lot of older clientele who take longer.
It is incredibly frustrating.
I have complained before and all I got was “Aye, we are really busy……” and a shrug of the shoulders.
Not exactly a way to attract people to play again (which I won’t).
In summary, if you don’t mind waiting over 5 mins at every hole to tee off, it’s a nice course.
If you want a relaxing game in under 4 hours, forget it.
