Whipper

Played yesterday at 1.30. Front nine was in pretty good shape and played in under 2 hrs.
Back nine was a disaster and left when we were the 4th group waiting to play 13.

Not sure if it was just slow play or groups go onto the back instead of front.

Maybe some marshalling would help.

Whitetail Crossing Golf Club

Whitetail Crossing is part of the Country Club Tour Group, a diverse collection of 6 well established courses in and around the Edmonton area.

Over the years, Whitetail Crossing has been a course that my brother and I would frequent at least twice a year to compete in both their spring and fall "Ironman Tournaments." This year we used it as our home course to compete in the World Amateur Match Race tournament winning six of our eight match play games and making our way to the semi-finals.

Whitetail Crossing, a 7082-yard course designed by Puddicombe Golf in 2007, presents generous sculpted fairways, accessible greens complexes and wide-open views of the surrounding farmland. Whitetail has quietly become a popular destination of choice for players looking for an affordable, consistently well-maintained test of golf. It is known for its varied layout, generous putting surfaces, multiple water features, exceptional bunkering and its challenging, but fair, layout. Many of the links like design features offered by the course easily rank it amongst the more challenging in central Alberta.

The par 3's are great fun as all require a different approach to club selection due to distance variations, green design, and hazard placement. Birdie opportunities on the par 4's and par 5's are there for the taking if you can navigate your way around the well-placed bunkers and water hazards. For many players, the 418-yard, par 4, 18th can be a daunting finish. Well-bunkered and playing uphill to a challenging green complex, the hole can be a difficult test. Finishing with a par on this hole is definitely an accomplishment!

A large driving range and practice putting green are available. The friendly staff and well-maintained fairways along with some of the best greens in central Alberta earn Whitetail Crossing high marks.

Quality Track

Mundare is the halfway point to the lake, this is the first time this year I have stopped on the way home. After playing and seeing the course conditions I should stop more often. I need to check on the deals that would be offered during the week as we start to run out of daylight, playing a round after work.

Great Course!

Have played here numerous times over the years. Great course. Staff very friendly. Conditions are usually very good. Summer 2019 was very wet for numerous courses in the area. Good challenge from all boxes. Best conditioned greens in the area. Pace of play is fantastic. Has various deals Monday to Thursday.

Best early season greens

Have played 5 courses in May and only 2 have decent greens. One is Whitetail. Pace of play is always good and a good test of golf with tee boxes for all players. No big forced carries. I will play at least monthly.

Gets better every year

We try to play this course a couple of times a year. The greens are always good. In the past they have had flooding issues on the back nine and they are working hard to eliminate this problem. These changes will be a great improvement in the overall golf experience. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Good Course worth the drive

If you want toplay a challenging course with good greens and varying lengths try this course. Club house is lacking but the actual course is one of my favorites. Always under 4.5 hours.
