Wairakei International Golf Course

Five km north of NZ's largest lake, Lake Taupo, Wairakei Int'l GC has consistently ranked among the finest layouts in NZ. Superbly sculptured surroundings are found within the confines of this sanctuary and continues to draw players from around the globe.

There is no shortage of memorable holes to play here, numerous elevation changes, well manicured fairways are peppered with contrasting white sand bunkers leading to large rolling greens that putt as fine as you will find anywhere in the world. Two favorites are Hole 8, a 350 metre downhill, dogleg right is reminiscent of the Par 4, 10th hole at the Belfry and Hole 14, a magnificent 548 meter long, Par 5 dogleg right that calls for arguably one of the more demanding approach shots into an elevated large kidney shaped green.

Visitors who play this championship course can expect a warm welcome, an eventful round and spectacular views.
