Founded in 1894, Duns Golf Club has gone through many changes in its more than a century of existence, and continues to challenge the locals of Berwickshire as well as traveling golfers.

In 1921, the golf course was moved to its present location at the Hardens. There the course was designed by A.H. Scott, who also had another important job - as Royal Clubmaker to King George V. A nine-hole course until 1997,the course has grown as much in the past decade as it had the previous half-century.

The course plays to 6,298 yards from the back tees, with the women's tees set at 5,475 yards. Subtly rolling fairways give golfers exquisite views of the country side, all leading up to the signature hole - No. 15, which plays to just 107 yards, but from an elevated tee to a two-tiered green with trouble both in front and behind the hole, earning it the nickname "Double Trouble."

Only 9 holes in play and no mention.

During winter there’s only nine holes in play and there’s no mention of that when booking. Was very disappointed about this when we showed up to the golf course this morning. Course in good condition for winter. And brilliant course in summer however was very disappointed that there was only 9 holes in play.

Duns golf club

A great parkland course in good condition especially the greens for this time of year. Some challenging holes kept the round interesting and enjoyable

Lots of nice features

There was only a coffee machine at the club house as it was very quiet for bookings .I have played the course on numerous occasions and in the past have been very pleased with the welcome we have had from the members and staff will definitely be back later on in the season.

Great course

The course was great and the welcome was warm. The greens were a lot slower than they looked and were in great condition. Each hole provides an interesting challenge. My only complaint would be that I was held up on the last due to children playing on the green so I couldn’t hit my approach shots. Whichever member/visitor who was allowing there children to play on the green with golfers on the course should know better!

Superb

I have played Duns many times over the years, as a 9 then 18 holes. The new part of the course is really coming into its own now. Course was in great nick, sprinklers in use late afternoon- great to see- and good to see dedicated greens staff working beyond 5pm.

Wish my golf was as good as this course

Great course that tests all levels of players. Well maintained fairways and greens despite the heatwave that was happening at the time.
Friendly and helpful staff in the spotless clubhouse.
I’d consider joining this club for the above reasons but I also believe membership gains you cheaper access to other courses.
Will definitely play here again and recommend it to anyone.

Excellent value for money, lovely testing layout

Played Duns GC for the first time, the presentation of the course was excellent and a credit to the greens team. Lots of individual holes which framed well from the tee. The greens had lush coverage which led to them running slow and that is my only criticism which can easily be resolved. They may even have been left a little wooly to protect the grass from the dry hot weather.
The lady secretary was both helpful and friendly. Overall I would definitely recommend and will return

Wow - what a wonderful course

Beautiful course with lots of variety, fairways lush and green and nice greens. Some challenging holes and stunning views and playable. Got a great deal and would be more than happy to pay more to return again in the future but felt it was an absolute bargain and would certainly recommend giving it a go…. Do not be put off by it being a great price it’s not because of the quality of the course it’s just a great deal!
People were really friendly and was able to get a great snack after our round was surprised how quiet it was.

Excellent course in great condition

This was booked as a cheap deal on route home from a couple days in Edinburgh and we definitely weren’t disappointed. Well looked after by the club house staff from arriving on site, even though they were ran off their feet due to a competition that was being ran and the groups returning back to the clubhouse.
The course was in great condition with a good layout, resulting in some difficult holes and great views of the cheviots and surrounding area. Will definitely be back and would be willing to pay more than we did for the round.
