Disappointing
I am sure in Summer this course would be decent but despite being on the side of hill, the course was sodden. Only when we arrived were we told it was carry only (no carts or trolleys) which made the round much less enjoyable.
Extremely friendly staff and members but sadly will not be returning.
Great course and in excellent condition this time of year with no temps.
Excellent course, played it once before in the summer.. Greens were excellent and NO temps which was a big bonus.
Fairways were also good considering the weather lately.
Staff in the pro shop very helpful.
Lovely course
Lovely course in excellent condition, considering the recent weather - greens were well drained and surprisingly fast. I can only imagine how good this place is in summer. Two holes closed in April 2023 for improvements, but a good discount given on the green fee to compensate more than made up for this
Winter
Very wet and carry only. Few people on the course which helped with pace of play. Greens in good condition given time of year. Would be interesting to play this in spring or summer.
Premium course
One of the best courses around, challenging layout, great views, greens were on point
Will come back again when towards autum winter
Bradford GC
Lovely condition & layout.
Very tricky greens with breaks everywhere.
Tough wind was blowing so made it hard work but very enjoyable.
Last 5 holes are my favourites.
Good, as always
Very enjoyable round. The only slight downside was some members jumping on the course in front of us and slowing play. Everything else was fine.
First time playing here.
We played as a foursome. One had played before but 3 hadn't. It's mid Jan, 4° and sunny. From meeting the gentleman in Pro Shop to the facilities I was very happy. Truthfully with the weather and time of year I had I thought the course would be hard work. I was wrong. Yes the frost had done its job but the greens were very very good. The bunkers that were in play were very good too. The fairways amazing. The course is fabulous. We played 2 holes twice as 2 were closed but that was to be expected. There are some tricky holes but we all loved playing here. We have said we will be back when it's warmer. Thank you for a great day.
Friendly staff & members
Really enjoyed the round. Greens very good despite time of year & recent rain. Oliver in Pro shop was very welcoming & helpful.
Just beautiful...
Played here three times and it's one of my favourites in the Leeds area. Very pretty and a great layout with lots of interesting holes, especially the par 3s. Always in good condition and although greens were a little short of being the best I've seen this year they were still very nice condition. It's not a long course, even off the back tees but it's fun to play, rarely unfair and the views are stunning.
Highly recommended for £25.
Great layout, interesting greens!
To start off with and get the negative point out of the way: the members could be a little more forthcoming in letting a solo player through. During my round today I was unfortunate enough to book a time in the middle of a members pairs knock out comp - luckily I paired up with two members for the first 10 holes which helped, but on a number of holes during the back 9 I was waiting on tee boxes while members were still playing from the same tee, following which I was not acknowledged or offered the opportunity to play through. I’d hope it be a minority of golfers but I found this totally unacceptable.
Positives: There are many interesting holes, and the attempt to grow fescue in the rough has helped with framing and brings definition to many of the holes. Particularly on the back 9 where a number of tee shots are played from an elevated position. The par 3s require accurate approaches but are on the shorter side. The course features only 2, par 5s - which are both relatively short also, both play to elevated greens and require solid, strategic shots to avoid bringing the false fronts into play.
The stand out feature of the course are the greens - they are subtlety contoured, feature run offs, and offer a variety of pin placements, they also allow the use of slopes on approaches and require strategy to get the ball close. Often playing away from the pin and using the slopes is the percentage play. The condition was “ok” contrast others I’ve played recently but I imagine they get slippery and could roll very pure with the right mix of conditions.
Overall, a great test and for a £25 twilight, it’s among the best value I’ve found.
Excellent Afternoon
Fantastic challenging course, greens were very quick. At times the course is a bit cramped with a few greens and tees close to each other but an enjoyable round was had by all 4 of us.
