Aerated Greens
No one mentioned the greens were being aerated. Don’t charge me full price for greens covered in sand. It was ridiculous. See the picture
Surprised and pleased with course conditions and first time playing experience
Heard good things about this course from other players in the San Fernando Valley so I decided to give it a try. Excellent practice facilities including range, practice greens, chipping and bunker greens. Friendly staff at the pro shop were able to get me out on the course immediately after I arrived early. Layout is flat and fairways and rough were in good shape. Greens and bunkers were well maintained. Spring season is when LA courses are usually at their best. The only negative thing is the course is located in the flight path of the very busy Van Nuys Executive Airport so jet noise overhead was a bit distracting throughout the round. I look forward to more rounds at Woodley Lakes.
Many Lakes
Almost every hole had flooded fairways. #10 should be closed. You really are playing in a lake.
Great, mostly flat course!
Despite going out on a very wet course following some recent rainstorms, this was a nice course to play. Generally, the course is mostly flat, with large fairways, lined by established trees. The greens were well kept. I would definitely play this course again.
Wet grounds
Of course, was wet and muddy. Understanding after some heavy rains. Had to walk the course but fortunately the course offered us electric follow walking cart. They were awesome. It was like taking a walk in the park and having a caddy carry our clubs.
Open layout; goose poop everywhere
The course is very wide and open. It’s good for people starting out. The greens were alright and the grass good except for there being goose poop everywhere. Literally everywhere. There’s hordes of them roaming the grounds. Also saw a coyote. But yeah, really annoying trying to chip and putt and tee off when you have piles of poop next to your ball and clubs and on the greens. But hey, the place is just a local muni and made for mainly beginners. The bar/restaurant at the clubhouse is nice and looked recently renovated.
