Mannville Riverview Golf Club

Mannville Riverview has been my home course since 2008 and this year the grounds keeping staff have got the fairways & greens in immaculate playing condition.

At 5670 yards, the courses biggest defences are the wind and the rough and anything less than sound ball striking and smart course management will bring angst and aggravation. It's not easy going 18 holes without taking at least one penalty stroke.

The river valleys diverse landscape is a perfect canvas for a memorable layout. Every hole can provide a Kodak moment if you take the time to look.

Fantastic golf, friendly staff, a well-stocked pro shop, restaurant and expansive outdoor deck offer visitors a reason to come back. There certainly is good value in having a membership at your local course and at Mannville the value doesn't get any better.

Mannville Riverview GC

I figured my 100th review should be a course that I spend most of my time on. It's not because I've had some success at my home course, ie: 2012 Club Champion, 2015 Match Play Champion or the 2015 & 2016 Senior Open Champion. No, it's because the Mannville Riverview course is so demanding of all players. Every round is a new challenge.

Don't let the 5670 yards fool you. With a slope/rating of 130/67.5, this course requires your full attention, sound decision making & will severely penalize bad shots. In addition to tight fairways, thick, heavy rough, fast sloping greens & numerous elevation changes there are water hazards that can have you at times pleading for religious intervention. Besides the friendly staff in the clubhouse, pro shop & restaurant, they have an excellent grounds keeping crew that keep the course in magnificent condition. There are over 30 serviced RV sites available.

Entertaining, dramatic, varied, exciting & exhausting all sum up Mannville Riverview golf course. One of the best 9 hole courses in the province.

Mannville Riverview GC

One of Alberta's best 9 hole courses. According to the scorecard, 18 holes plays to 5670 yards but what most golfers don't pay attention to is the slope/rating which is 130/67.5. The un-initiated make the assumption it'll be a cake walk. This course demands accuracy over brute strength. The Vermilion River meanders through the course and can come into play on no less than 5 holes. If you're not hitting fairways or greens chances are pretty good you'll be slashing it out of deep rough or thick underbrush. You can expect to post huge numbers if you miss the fairways. Play smart & the rewards are great.
