Challenging but very fun!
An awesome course with very challenging greens and pin placements. Extremely well-maintained! Very friendly staff with a brand new clubhouse! Some amenities not available as the facility was not completed with construction and also with COVID issues ongoing.
Highly recommend and I will be anticipating coming back very soon!!
Amazing course
A Jim Engh gem. Generous fairways, challenging second shots and unique greens. Multiple tees allow for a challenging round. The views are beautiful and houses never come into play. Usually in pristine condition. Friendly staff and excellent practice areas. One of northern Colorado’s best courses.
Tricked up
I guess this is what Jim Engh likes to do in his course design, but there are several holes with blind tee shots and hidden greens even for your second shot. Played with someone who had played once before, but even then it was difficult to visualize many of the holes. Great conditions though, and very friendly service, and nice practice facility. The smallest "Pro Shop" I've ever seen, but it is a private facility with a small membership. We were fortunate to have a pass for a foursome from a prior charity tournament.
Weird layout
Honestly, this course is funky. Most of the holes you can't see the flagstick or most of the green and it doesn't reward you for a good shot. All of the greens are ridiculous and some of the holes are stupid. However, when you were to hit a bad shot, all of the greens slope right to the cup so you had a gimme. It really isn't a good test of golf but the course conditions were immaculate. The staff was really nice and everything else was extremely pleasing except the golf course itself. The club overall has a lot of nice elements and the practice facility is top of the line. I would practice there for hours on end, just not play it.
