Situated along Ireland's northeastern coast less than an hour from Belfast, Ardglass Golf Club offers stunning views of the ocean from every hole. On clear days, golfers can even see past the Irish Sea to the Isle of Man. The traditional links design hugs the rugged County Down coastline, incorporating the sea into eight of its holes. Three of these holes, the second, 11th, and 12th, are some of the most dramatic in Ireland. They all require a carry across the rocky cliffs above the sea. The par-3 12th also offers a spectacular view of the Mourne Mountains. Being so close to the ocean, unpredictable winds often blow through the golf course making it even more challenging. Some golfers have compared Ardglass to Pebble Beach in California. In addition to the course, Ardglass is home to one of the oldest clubhouses in Ireland that dates back to the 12th century.
