Isla Navidad Country Club - The Lagoon Golf Course
About
Situated along the Pacific Coast and enjoying a scenic mountain backdrop, the 27-hole course at Isla Navidad Country Club offers unique views on every hole. It borders the ocean as well as Navidad Lagoon. The golf course is divided into three nines names after the course's defining characteristics: Ocean, Mountain, and Lagoon. The Lagoon Course is routed through a series of waterways that comes into play on each hole. The course is also accented with mangrove forests that guard the greensides. The seventh on the Lagoon nine is by far the longest hole at Isla Navidad C.C. This beastly hole measures to 575 yards, but thankfully it is a straightaway. Golfers will encounter plenty of bunkers on the first and second shot before coming across even more of the, surrounding the elevated green, which is also sheltered by palms and seagrape.

Used to be a good course
I have never felt more taken advantage of on a golf course. The rate posted was not what I paid at the course, the rental clubs I used were from the 1990s and charged almost the same price as the round, they made us use a caddie (they said was mandatory but never mentioned on their website or anywhere else prior to the round) and then they mentioned after the 13th hole that we had to close at five and couldn’t play the rest of the round. They were friendly as they took advantage of us but I would not recommend playing this course while there. Also, course track is pretty good but the conditions were terrible. You can’t tell the difference between rough and fairway and it hasn’t been mowed. Coconuts laying everywhere and just not maintained at all. Greens and tee boxes were ok. It was pretty obvious that they aren’t busy enough to hire staff and maintain the course.
Excellent Experience
Awesome experience, fabulous layout, ocean views, nicely manicured course
Expect little and enjoy the views
Greens not true. You have to hammer putts to go straight. Beautiful ocean views. Only 18 of the 27 holes are playable. Caddies are great but shouldn’t be mandatory. Club rental $30 US and caddies $35. Use golf now for cheaper rates.
Don’t expect Palm Springs
Nice views and good to play but the course after all fees is not worth the play. Unfortunately you do not have a lot of options in this area. The greens are not true or good. The added fees for clubs, caddie (required) etc add up to what should be an amazing course. Expect to pay 150-200 and get to play a course worth 65-85. Enjoyed it somewhat but if you are looking for a Palm Springs type course …….. you will be bitterly disappointed.
Alert! Alert!
We booked a tee time (hot deal) on this course thru golf now got to the course and the pro shop would not honour the prepaid tee time stating he was not getting a fair price back from golf now. Obviously he never read his contract with them as is my understanding the idea is The course gets advertising administrative perks from golf now in return for a few tee times they can offer their golfers. The pro shop wanted us to pay a higher full fee and get a refund from golf now. As we were in the pro shop another group were having the same problem. We have used golf now many many times and never had this issue. We’ve contacted golf now and they are looking into it.....
Isla de Navidad Country Club
Only played 9 but it was enough for my first time golfing in 6 mos. Almost too hot to play another 9. Next time!
Great golf on the beach
It is a great golf course with 27 holes. You can either play "ocean" or "mountain".
The course conditions are not prestine, but very good overall. The only downside is that you will be most likely playing alone. Yo will hardly see anyone else playing.
I guess one reason for this is that they have a 250 usd green fee. Absurdly high.
Thanks to Golf Now I played for 44 usd, and for that money it is absolutely fantastic.
Terribles condiciones
El campo está en terribles condiciones muy descuidado ? Además de la mala condición del campo unos moscos terribles
FABULOUS GOLF & SERVICE
We played 27 holes on this great golf course. I have played in several other Mexico resorts and this is definitely tops. The condition is good even if they had lots of rain recently. Caddie service is outsatnding.
They have a special rate of $75 USD on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Did you ever receive a response regarding this issue? Just curious....
And, by the way, if you are a 5-9 handicap you are an advanced player. Don't sell yourself short!
