Four of us played abbeyleix we are not playing golf that long and it is the best course we have played well maintained for this time of the year well done to the green keepers green's and fairways well done staff very friendly
Lovely course
Would love a bit more direction off the tees for new players but great course, great condition. I would play again
A hidden gem
Abbeyleix golf club is a hidden gem. A challenging and fun course with a great mix of par 5s and par 3s. Some really interesting dog-legs with plenty of elevation changes and sloped lies.
Friendly welcome and the food at the clubhouse was tasty and great value. We played 2 rounds over 2 days. Conditions were damp but didn't take away from the experience. Only potential area of improvement was the tee boxes - grass was quite long on the first day which wasn't ideal. Overall though an amazing experience - will be back for sure.

Nice course in great condition considering time of year. Weather allowed us to get around to the 15th before calling it a day.
Great course, well kept - only one gripe
Enjoyed this course immensely. It’s beautiful, well kept and challenging… got a bit of stick from the staff about playing off the white tees which wasn’t mentioned to us before we set out. Tbh, I thought a group of greens fee paying visitors would be able to play off the long tees and if the long tees weren’t in use, maybe they should have been removed? My brother and I are 2 long enough players so we found that a little frustrating. Great course. Good value

What a little gem a hills but it's a fantastic place some tricky holes but great day and the food in the clubhouse is fantastic and great value will be back again soon

Beautiful course lady in the office was so nice and helpful.
Highly recommend
Just keep in mind it's quiet tricky and has a good few steep hills. Golf gps watch would have been way more helpful than my bushnell range finder due to the fact there was so many hills.will definitely play again a great test
Classic course design in great condition,
This is a special course, there's dog legs both ways and the greens are perfect right now. It plays better than many big name courses. Thanks!
