Fun Course, Friendly Staff, First Class Service
Hogs Head's motto is "Built by friends, for friends, for fun". This was certainly true. Our group of 12 arrived early for our tee times, and were met by the first of many friendly and welcoming members of the Hogs Head team. They quickly sorted out our needs and directed us to the locker rooms and assured us we could get out early if we wanted to. After a quick and delicious breakfast/lunch we were introduced to our caddies and hit the driving range and practice green,
The wind was howling. Our caddies said it was the strongest they had encountered since the course opened. Fortunately we only lost one hat to the wind (my caddy's) and a few golf balls blown off the course.
The course is immaculate with lush fairways and well manicured greens. Absent the wind it would have been an eminently fair test of golf with 5 sets of tees to choose from. We actually used a forward set for holes into the wind and one further back for the downwind holes.
Caddies are mandatory and well worth it. They were friendly and knowledgable, helping immensely with the yardages and line given the wind.
The bar is beautiful and our barman Barry had some great. stories to tell. It was a wonderful place to end the day.
