Ballybunion Golf Club has a secluded location on the southwest coast of Ireland. The club is home to two championship links courses. Robert Trent Jones designed the later of the two courses, the Cashen Course. Jones situated the course right along the shoreline, providing sweeping views of the ocean. The natural terrain was carefully preserved, which included allowing long grass to grow across the dunes that pitch and roll throughout the course. The tricky fairways disappear around the corners, which means accuracy off the tee is a necessity. Although it is often overshadowed by its more well known sister course, the Old Course, it should not be overlooked. In addition to the golf courses, Ballybunion offers a driving range, a chipping green with practice bunkers, and two putting greens.
