Fota Island Golf Course
Five star course with five star customer service at this wonderful location
This is an excellent course with first class amenities..I would highly recommend a round here.
Nice resort course
This course was the most expensive one we played while in Ireland and was a treat to ourselves at the end of our trip. The course was nice and the pace of play was great but there were a couple of things that were a bit disappointing. The staff was not very welcoming when we arrived and in fact told me that I had not paid and proceeded to charge me again at the walk-in rate. I had to recheck and phone back later to get a refund because it was a prepaid time. The other disappointing event was the spraying of chemicals while we were playing. With the windy conditions on the course the fertilizer blew into our faces while we were playing. When we pointed this out to the staff after, we felt they dismissed our concern.
Best course iv played
I have a played a number of championship courses, but this is by far the best. Conditions were absolutly brilliant. I will be trying to get out once a month here going forward
Booked a tee time for myself and 3 friends as a last minute deal. It cost €40 per player (with a small charge of €1 each also) which was well worth it in our opinion. We played the Deerpark Course which was in great condition considering the weather we have had recently. Would highly recommend this course to friends and will definitely be back to play a round there again myself.
Excellent course
Enjoyed our game here in very good condition
A variety of holes challenging but a fair test
Love to play again
Modern Irish Challenge
The staff was super accommodating and I dealt Clodaugh in the Sales department to set up our group. First class facilty and golf course you want to play more than once. We had sun, wind and rain throughout our day but we played in 4 hours and had a blast. Tee off early and still had to enjoy other parts of Cork and Cobh. Play where the pros have played and enjoy a beautiful experience. PS. Shipped my clubs via Shipsticks from US and all was good.
Amazing Course and fantastic staff
I played Fota Island Golf Course with my brother and nephew and had a fantastic day out. The course was in great condition and the greens were running really smoothly and consistently. As well as this the staff in both the Proshop and the Clubhouse really made us feel at home. The food in the Clubhouse was lovely and there wasn't a long waiting time even though it was fairly busy. All in all a great day out at Fota Island Golf Club, I can't wait to return (and hopefully shoot a decent score) this summer.
Deerpark course at Fota Island a worthy championship venue
Let's get a few things straight before this review. I played in the 2014 Irish Open pro-am with Edoardo Molinari. That made for a great experience (and the one-star rating for pace of play). The Deerpark course was in immaculate shape. The rough was nasty. The fairway cuts were clean and checkered in some spots. I played Deerpark in conditions as good as it will get. It was definitely a four-star experience. It's a strong routing with a pair of daunting back-to-back par-5s on the front nine. Three of the par 3s are laced with water. The par-5 18th finishes at a peninsula green jutting into the water, a risk-reward ending for those who try to reach it in two. If you're in Cork, it's a tough choice between playing Fota or The Cork Golf Club. One has hosted multiple Irish Opens; the other's a restored Alister MacKenzie. You decide.
I completely agree
