The 360-acre Dromoland Castle estate sprawls across verdant rolling hills covered with lakes, streams, and centuries-old trees. The landscape is the perfect setting for a round of golf. Natural water hazards come into play throughout the course. The course was opened in 1961 but renovations in 2004 improved the drainage and added more challenges. The signature hole is the seventh, known for its postage stamp green that has a shamrock bunker to the right and water along the left. The 16th and 17th holes were completely reworked, making the par-4 16th one of the most formidable holes on the golf course. In addition to the course, Dromoland Castle also has a unique driving range featuring 10 fully automated bays, putting greens, and a bunker.
