Monte-Carlo Golf Club

Willie Park, Jr. found himself high above the Principality of Monaco in 1911 and discovered that there was room to throw down a few fairways and greens.

Meandering along the lower slopes of Mont Agel, this Par 71 has some interesting routing, elevation changes, natural hazards, uneven lies and some wonderful views. With exposure to the prevailing Mediterranean winds the narrow fairways are challenging. This course demands accuracy, careful club selection and concentration. The 400 yard, par 4, 4th hole provides one of those "holy crap" moments. From an elevated tee, it requires an exacting drive to find a landing area on either side of a tree island that splits the fairway. It is the best hole on the course. Holes 5 and 7 present spectacular southern views over Monaco.

There is no shortage of things to do while in Monaco and you can pretty well walk everywhere of interest. The Monte-Carlo Casino, shops galore, the main harbour, the palace, the train station etc.
