Well laid out course, immaculate condition, plenty of tee selections to accomodate every level of golfer, wonderful facilities and superb and attentive staff. Very challenging course as there is plenty of water that comes into play, as well as lots of well placed bunkering. Plays different in the morning to the afternoon as the winds change around lunch, so club selection from AM to PM needs to be considered. As the course is on Yas Island, it is near the airport, but not near the city, however reasonable taxi prices can get you there cheap enough. Highly recommend this course to anyone who is an avid golfer, and is looking for an alternative to the Dubai golf experience.

The only down side is that as of Jan 1, a visa is now required to enter Abu Dhabi, so be sure to check the prices before you go. I am a Canadian passport holder, and it is now $250 for a 30 days visa, which must be acquired prior to departure (allow minimum of 15 days). This adds a sigificant amount to a golf vacation, and sadly, may be enough to sway your decision to golf here, as ther are many alternatives globally that offer great golf and reasonable rates.
