Course Review and Comments
Woodland Hills CC is a challenge. A much different course then any other I have played in SoCal. Lots of beautiful mature trees, great views, fairly small fast greens, narrow fairways. A very good old school design with only a few gimme holes, although birdie is attainable on every hole if you can hit the fairway (except 14, an uphill beast of a par 4). The yardage is deceiving with all the elevation, it felt much longer... the rating and slope are deceiving as well (yardage is probably keeping these numbers down, or the rating guy was on crack) it should be a 129-130 slope in my opinion... this is a shotmakers course, really can't think of a "bad" hole. The clubhouse needs some updating, the mens locker room looked untouched since '79 and smelled like it.. the food areas and the bar looked nice though and had great views. This place is a couple updates away from being a shining gem of a club in Los Angeles.
