Course Review and Comments
This course has a nice, although short, layout. Unfortunately, it takes way too long to play and the rangers do nothing to keep the pace moving. After a three hour and fifteen minute front nine where we waited to hit every tee shot behind at least two groups at every tee, we had to wait for 45 minutes to tee off on the back nine. Six hours and fifteen minutes to play this course is ridiculous.
The ranger said it is always slow and we should not play on the weekend if we want to play in under 5 hours. The man in the pro shop old us we were unreasonable to expect to play golf in under 5 hours on a weekend. This course accepts their slow play without any effort to improve.
The fairways have some bald spots, and some areas of exposed rock, the greens are fair and it looks like they will be dead shortly. The practice area green is dead and covered in sand. They have a small driving range, so small that we could not hit a shot before teeing off, even though we waited for an hour before teeing off. Parking lot is small as well. We had to wait 15 minutes to get a parking spot. It was 90 degrees when we played and there was not a drop of drinking water or a beverage cart available. They have signs prohibiting outside coolers and beverages.
We spoke to one person who said he was a member that said they had a recent membership drive, they had signs up for a "new membership drive". He said that they have too many members now and that most weekend days there is no parking available and 5 and a half hour rounds are the norm.
THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH THE EFFORT AND THE STAFF IS

Wildwood Green Golf Course needs an overhaul. It is a wonderful layout in need of care. located in a neighborhood, homes built on top of the fairways make the course appear tighter than it actually is

This is a generic review. This like many courses have given away memberships to generate cash flow. The problem is that they have given away so many memberships without fees, that those that paid for

Good location, close to Raleigh, but condition is terrible. Watch out for rocks in sand traps and rough, some fairways are hard to identify due to weed- they don;t look cut, also greens are slow, bump

Could be a nice course to play if condition was better. I enjoyed the lay out with the exception of a couple hole. Greens were in good condition.
