Course Review and Comments
This is a great little Par 60 Course. Par 60? Yeah...but it really lets you work on your short game. The greens are ok and they've just gotten new sand in their bunkers. Decent combination of wide open, and narrow opening, fairways. There are only a few holes that you could use a driver on, so if you need the "big drive" to feel good about your game, you won't get much of that here. This is a great place to work on your mid-distance approach shots, your greenside play, and some "rescue" shots. You've really got to work to hit your ball completely out of play (but it is doable in the adjoining neighborhood) so most balls are playable- though some will be tougher than others to rescue. The course was built in 1968 an feels like it...a little worn, a little tired, no fancy amenities. But on the weekends they do have a "beer girl" on the course, and their little club house is comfortable in a "old diner" kind of way. They've got an ok practice range with a combination of mats and turf to hit from. The best news is that you can get in 18 holes for about $25 in under 3 hours...and have a good time doing it. West End is a great place to get ready for playing the more expensive courses in town. Family friendly, no "stuck-up" attitudes, good staff, great, little place.

The people that work at the golf course are not nice, and the lady that works at the food counter has yelled at me and my friends before, and they do not always have a starter to check you in to see i

Good course for high handicapper and for those wanting to work on their short game. Some tight opening through trees in fairways are a challenge.

The greens are not very well kept. Many of them are barren. Anice executive course for a good practice round for irons and your chipping. You may just want to leave the driver at home, unless you are

Played on Saturday afternoon. The Men's Association plays in the morning and although it is a bit crowded, play moves quickly. I highly recommend this facility for driving range and play.

DO NOT play this course on a Saturday between 8:30 and 11. They have a retired men's league that plays 3 or 4 groups some of which are 5-somes and 6-somes.!!!
They will NOT let you play through an
