I played this course as part of a scramble outing of 24 thru where a friend of mine works. The greens were in great condition, despite the drought of 2007. The approaches didn't have irrigation, though, and carts weren't allowed within 100 yards of the green. I understand that. In fact, I work in golf course maintenance.
I don't know what's standard practice, but it wouldn't have hurt them to give our group a small discount. Instead, we paid full price.
But what I really had issue with were the 2 rangers patrolling the course. They literally stalked our outing and made us uncomfortable. On the back 9, we had some groups who struggled for 2 or 3 holes. There was Ranger Rick, reminding us that we sucked, and we needed to speed up, which only made some more nervous. Heck, we were an outing! The only people we were holding up were ourselves.
Imagine having a ranger lurking behind the tee area watching every one of your foursome tee off, right when you're struggling. It was very uncomfortable, irritating, and put a damper on our day. For that reason, I cannot recommend this course.
