Course Review and Comments
Well, first off, I don't know where this website gets "State Park" in the title . . . it is just "Washington Park Golf", a municipal park. This is a very interesting course. A stream (Pike Creek) and a tributary trisect the course. As a result, a good number of fairways have quite a ravine or valley for you to hit across (or into, depending on your luck or skill). Those who walk the course will get a fair workout up and down these slopes. (There are gas carts available.) The second characteristic which will challenge some duffers is a number of fairly narrow fairways. If you are not a straight-hitter, you will be in the rough or out of bounds often. So . . . will I play it again? Probably, but not until my game improves! Would I recommend it to others? Well, I'll describe it and let them decide for themselves!
