Course Review and Comments
I've played at some of the best venues across the country...muni, public, resort, and private...and Wailea is by far my favorite...though Pinehurst is a very close second. The layouts of the Gold & Emerald Courses are outstanding...with tee boxes to challenge (or assist) every skill level. The views are unparallelled...the facilities are outstanding...and the staff is great (especially the bartenders at the 19th). I've played at Wailea well over 50 times, over the span of 10 years, and will continue to go back year-after-year. Yes...it's a little pricey, but everything in HI is expensive...especially in South Maui. But it's a first class facility, sitting on a really expensive piece of real estate...so take everything into consideration before you scoff at the price tag. You'll pay more to play the Kapalua Plantation Course, Pebble, or Pinehurst #2...and Wailea is unequivocally on the same level.

The Wailea Emerald Course was my favorite of the 9 courses I played in Maui in Oct 2007. I have posted a detailed review of it and the other courses on my golf blog: www.golfgal-blog.com.
