Course Review and Comments

Previous review is quite accurate.

Actually, Virginia National is ALREADY bankrupt! They went into Chapter 11 in early spring.

The new owners, who took over the place 3 years ago have mismanaged it, and let conditions deteriorate from among the best in the area to pretty sad.

A recent trip out there was depressing.

The setting is beautiful and the design is very good. However, conditioning is poor. The greens, that I once considered among the best in northern Virginia were half dead when I played there recently. Weeds grew 6 feet high along streams that crossed the fairways.

Conditions are obviously driving customers away from the once popular course. On my last visit, my spouse and I were alone on the course on a beautiful day.

Hopefully, the place will get sold, or auctioned off, to ownership that knows how to maintain and operate a golf course.
