Course Review and Comments
Despite the unfortunate incident on the 10th tee and the maintenance issues due to aeration (our bad luck), I must say I was enjoying the course until ennui set in with the pace of play. I would consider this an aberration and I would recommend this course although the green fee might be a tad excessive considering the golf experiences we had elsewhere in Vietnam.Ratings

| Price comments | As part of a pre-paid golf package, I don't know what the actual green fees were. This website lists them at $90.00 so I assume that's what they were for the day we played. |

| Course Design Comments | Like the East course here, the course was quite flat and easily walked. Unlike the East course, however, this one is much tighter with lovely trees framing virtually every hole. Course management is more of a factor on this course and consequently, I consider it a better design. As a matter of note, the scorecard only shows blue, white and red tees contrary to this website's scorecard which also lists gold tees. The yardages for these tees vary as well. Perhaps the course is undergoing a revamp although I could see no evidence of it. |

| Course Greens/Fairways Condition Comments | At the time we played, the fairways had been aerated and it wasn't in the best of shape. That said, the East course was in good condition and probably this one would be too under normal circumstances. As on the East course, the greens were quite slow, about 8.5, and I'm sure that this could be attributed to abnormal hot and dry weather. The greens were probably cut higher than normal to protect them from burning out. |

| Course Service Comments | There was a shotgun tournament being played on the sister course at this facility so the West course was quite full. Pace of play was quite good on the front but at the turn, management inexplicably put three groups out in front of us on Number 10. Being only a twosome behind two foursomes and a threesome, pace of play for us was at a glacial pace and the twosome that was in front of us on the first nine finished play about an hour before we finally were done. Service was very good in every other respect but surely one would think that they would allow us to play through before interjecting three other groups on the course at the turn. By the 18th hole, I had lost interest in the game! |
