Course Review and Comments
This course is just stunning and I have played this course several times, the latest was in start of the Winter 2011.
The scenery is some of the best you will find, the golf course is situated in the Balele game reserve, on a good day you can share the fairways with a verity of wildlife. The course has some of the best fairways I have played on locally (RSA) and abroad (UK).
UUC golf course have a unique layout, with fast rolling greens. The weather does play a big roll in this course in my own experience with this course. The summer brings a little slower green speed while it stays fairly fast and brakes well. Most of the holes are long PAR 4’s and 5’s. Easy to play and a nice dog leg that is waiting for you around the dam’s edge.
The course is little dry in the rough areas of the course due to Winter, in the Spring it softens up and is as green as the rest of the surroundings of the Balele game park. Game play stays very good all year around on this course and I will recommend anybody to spend a weekend in the Game Park play the course.
There is many trees and other natural obstacles that makes this course a breeze to play, there is 2 signature holes that is played from the banks of the dam, one of them is the famous over the water shot at the 9th and 18th hole. It is just one of those holes that completes the game and will make you come back and do it again.
After a good game the club house has many R&R facilities to close a good days golf! Good company and friendly faces.
