Course Review and Comments
Very nice rural public facility. Well maintained, challenging yet balanced for all styles of play. Greens fair and readable but require good execution. A couple of "gimme" pars and a couple of nasty holes to balance those out. Over all a very playable course for both recreational or serious golf. Front nine fairly tame, relaxing and forgiving, somewhat wooded. Back nine also forgiving but far more open - if you stay in the generous fairways. If you find the wide rough, expect links style challenges with some wicked long and biting grasses. Bunkers are fairly few but absolutely in play and water is judicously placed to challenge approaches and punish errant shots.
Favorite holes include #3 and nice downhill par 3, with a stream bisecting the hole, played into a gulley positioned so the winds make the hole different every time and # 16 a medium length par 4 that has a nasty approach dogleg right that turns in to a green completely surrounded by a grove of trees.Unless played within 10 to 15 yards within target for your approach, abandon all hope of a brid and pray for par.
Over all a great play.
