Course Review and Comments

A great course in the summer / dry months. No homes on the course. It's a place that you can score well if you are having a good day.

There are a couple of challenging holes. A long par 3 on the front 9 that is about 200 yards from the middle tees. It has a large green that is quite severely sloped from back to front. A par 5 on the back 9 where your drive is uphill through a fairly narrow chute of trees. It's probably not as narrow as it looks... the trees are very tall. If you want a huge challenge, play the hole from the back tees which will require you to hit a slight draw and it plays really long from there.

Just a caution, this course is very wet in the winter months. You won't catch me out there. Absolutely no roll... if you can find your ball - because if you hit a high ball, it's going plug... and most likely, deep enough that you won't find it.

Price comments This is an all day rate, play as many holes as you would like.
Course Design Rating
Course Design Comments This course has wide fairways on most holes. No homes at all on the course. There is a river that meanders through the course... greens break toward the water.
Course Greens/Fairways Condition Rating
Course Greens/Fairways Condition Comments Conditions are excellent July through mid-September. However, once the rain starts, usually by October... you won't catch me playing Tumwater Valley. It's just too wet and mushy.
Course Service Rating
Course Service Comments It's a public municipal course. You get what you would expect from this type of facility. They do have a pretty decent restaurant which you would not expect at a municipal course.
Course Facilities Rating
Course Facilities Comments An average clubhouse, great practice facilities that include a large driving range, great chipping area, and a large putting green. The restaurant is a bonus for a municipal course.
