I try and get at leat one round on here per week at the moment but during the summer it will be more. Of the 3 Troon courses this is my favourite. Its difficult enough for my handicap and good too is you dont like spending too much time looking for balls, well in the winter its alright. It starts with a difficult par 4 at over 400 yards then gets worse. Its a nice links course harder that Fullarton and easier than Darley. There are some really nice holes on it and the 2nd through to the 6th are lovely. Then the Dovecot section is more parkland golf providing 4 holes of varying difficulty, the 13th is No 28 on the SI but I hate it mess up your second and you are in for a hard recovery from the bunkers at the front of the green. The 15th to 18th are nice links holes and the par 5 16th is birdieable with 2 good initial strokes.
All in all a good test of golf and forgiving enough to make it enjoyable, although it may take over 3 1/2 hourse to get round.
