Course Review and Comments

I played Tour 18 yesterday morning 8/28/11 for the first time in 5 years. We drove out there because we were told over the phone the course was in great shape and we would recieve a "reduced" fee for aerified greens, punched the previous Monday. Putting surfaces there should be the least of any golfers concern at Tour 18 because they are the only thing green out there. This course in its current state is not worth $30 which is not an exaggeration and we paid double that for a reduced rate. The tee boxes and fairways are in horrible shape. Tee boxes appeared to have suffocated and were not going to recover while dirt fairways meant we had to roll our balls to find a dead patch of brown grass to hit off of. We were 100% disappointed and 3 holes into our round wished we had saved ourselves the $ and drive. Not only that but the course was backed up by the 3rd hole with 3 groups alone on that hole. I have played bad courses in DFW in their worst shape(s) and this is right at the top. To try to charge the $$$ green fees ... 8/28/11 for the first time in 5 years. People should be made aware of the when calling or arriving. There are so many nicer cheaper DFW courses to go play right now. It cannot be blamed on heat either because courses like Texas Star are cheaper and in the best shape I have ever seen in the same hot conditions. Save your $ and play elsewhere
