Course Review and Comments
So you think you are a 4? Not here you aren't!
I sceduled to stay an extra day in Raleigh just to play "The Road"!
After calling the pro shop, I decided to play anyway! Temperture was 28 degrees, with wind gusts up to 45 mph!
I was the only nutcase crazy enough to play that day, imagine that!
Josh, in th pro shop asked me if I wanted to pay for 9, in case I wanted to quit! No way, I'm from Texas, I'm gonna finish!
The course is really neat with charcater throughout! Ther a ton of blind spots, and some of them are goofy, but you will remember virtually eery hole. Name another course you can say that about on your first trip around it!
After shooting 38 on the front, I thought I was well on my way to meeting my goal, no matter how bad the weather was!
Starting the back nine bogey, par, bogey, I still thought I could break 80? Double bogey on a 152 yard pr 3 with the wind gusting to 45 across the water did me in.
The finishing holes are brutal. 17 is short par 3 that is about 10 yards deep and 40 yards wide. It looks simple, but isn't.
I bet there are fewer birdies on 18 that any hole on the course.
You will love the experience of playing Tobacco Road. You will NEVER play it in worse conditions than I did, and I still loved it.
I will bring my buddies to this region for a guy trip and definetly play "The Road"!

Some solid drives ran through the fairway and OB or lost because the compacted sand at the edges doesn't slow the ball. Newcomers spend a LOT of time just trying to figure out where they are hitting t

A short course with virtually no rough? How tough can it be? The answer is very tough and very enjoyable. Tobacco Road challenges your ability to think around a golf course, no matter your handicap
