Course Review and Comments
I have played the Moffat course on many occasions. I love this course. This is a moorland courses and the scenery on every hole is breathtaking. Roe deer on the fairways etc... Even the ride up towards the club house with the view of Moffat village below reminds you of a Swiss village.
The course isn't particulary difficult but there are some really interesting holes. The 9th is a small par 3 playing up a very steep hill onto an hidden green. You will be breathless when you have climbed to the top!! It's only a 9 iron or pitching wedge but make sure you get over the ridge or you will be in big trouble!
If you play on a nice day you can score very well as most par threes are a good drive and a wedge but on a windy day it is totally different!
I love the 18th from a raised tee that looks down towards the village and clubhouse. You can resist trying to drive the green but I have only managed it twice.
I actually think it is one of the best little cours in the south of Scotland.
