Course Review and Comments

I don't get the buzz, average course at best and way too expensive. It felt like it was cobbled together with random bits of land, Lake Michigan shoreline being the least of it. And it is visually very unappealing, you spend a great deal of time and distance driving between holes, usually crossing busy roads, always seeing electric overhead lines, seeing and hearing traffic and if this place doesn't go bankrupt soon, there will be lots of houses built on the course to make it look and feel even worse. I played okay, so I'm not hating on it because I didn't score well, hating on it because it fails on so many levels.

Course Design Rating
Course Design Comments Big let down - to have two 3 pars in the first four holes is an indication that they let the housing development dictate the layout, not the land. This is not a pretty golf course, lots of high traffic roads, lots of power lines, and you only see Lake Michigan from two spots. And the greens need to be redone - multi-tiered, huge crowns and swales, kept looking for the Clown's head.
Course Greens/Fairways Condition Rating
Course Greens/Fairways Condition Comments Course was in great shape, greens were outstanding, condition wise.

Course Facilities Comments The pro shop is part of the local technical college building, have to see it to believe it. Not the resort/highend golf experience you may expect at this price point.
