Course Review and Comments

As a former sports writer for the Burlington Times-News, I once covered the GGO at Sedgefield and Forest Oakes, the PGA at Tanglewood and have played Pinehurst No. 1 and No. 4, along with Grandfather CC, Linville GC and Linville Ridge. Chapel Ridge, as far as the course is concerned, would be an excellent venue for an ACC, CGA, LPGA or PGA event. The Bermuda fairways are excellent and the greens are bent grass and quick, but not unfair. From the tips this course can hold its own with any in N.C. Now as a senior, I like the Mon-Fri. $27-after-3-p.m. cart/greens fee. This course is well worth a visit and I return every chance I get.
